Terms of Service

These terms are an agreement between you and BaristaMatch LLC, a Florida limited liability company ("BaristaMatch," "we," "us," or "our"). They govern your use of the BaristaMatch website and mobile application, a marketplace that helps baristas and cafés discover opportunities and connect. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and our Privacy Policy.

1. Eligibility and accounts

You must be at least 16 years old and legally able to use this service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use BaristaMatch only with permission from a parent or legal guardian. Work eligibility, permitted hours, and any required work authorization remain subject to applicable law. You must provide accurate account information, protect your login credentials, and not impersonate another person or business.

2. Marketplace use

BaristaMatch provides tools for profiles, job posts, applications, candidate review, and matches. We are not an employer, staffing agency, or party to agreements between users. Cafés control their hiring decisions, and users are responsible for confirming job details, eligibility, qualifications, compensation, and workplace requirements.

3. User content

You retain ownership of information, job posts, profile text, images, messages, and videos you submit. You give BaristaMatch a nonexclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, and display that content only as reasonably needed to operate, secure, and improve the service. Only upload content you have the right to use. You may report objectionable content or conduct and block another user through the available safety controls.

4. Acceptable conduct

• Do not post false, deceptive, discriminatory, illegal, or unsafe opportunities.
• Do not harass users, scrape profiles, send spam, or misuse personal information.
• Do not attempt to bypass security, access another account, or disrupt the service.
• Do not upload malware, unlawful content, or content that infringes another person’s rights.

5. Safety and employment decisions

Users must use reasonable care when meeting, interviewing, hiring, or accepting work. BaristaMatch does not guarantee a user’s identity, qualifications, job availability, conduct, or hiring outcome. Report suspicious activity and follow applicable employment, wage, safety, and anti-discrimination laws.

6. Availability and changes

We work to keep BaristaMatch reliable, but the service may occasionally be unavailable or change as features improve. We may suspend accounts or remove content when reasonably necessary to protect users, comply with law, or enforce these terms.

7. Disclaimers and liability

The service is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by law. BaristaMatch is not responsible for user conduct, employment decisions, lost opportunities, or indirect damages. Nothing in these terms excludes rights or liability that cannot legally be excluded.

8. Café plans and subscriptions

Barista accounts are free. The café Free plan includes your first job post, applicant and profile review for that job, messaging with mutual matches, and interview scheduling. You can edit, pause, and reopen that first job without purchasing another post. An active Pro subscription is required before a second distinct job can be published. Pro allows up to three active jobs.

Where paid subscriptions are available, checkout shows the applicable price, billing period, included features, renewal terms, and cancellation method before you confirm a purchase. Existing subscriptions keep their agreed terms. No account is automatically enrolled in a paid plan, and we do not automatically migrate an existing subscription to another payment provider.

Apple subscriptions renew monthly unless canceled. You can manage or cancel an Apple subscription in your Apple account settings and restore purchases from Café plans in the app. Website subscriptions continue to use their existing billing provider and can be managed from your account. Canceling renewal does not remove access before the end of the paid period, except when a refund, revocation, or another applicable account rule changes access. Canceling a subscription does not delete your account or hiring records. Deleting your BaristaMatch account does not cancel an Apple subscription; cancel it separately through Apple. Any payment method offered follows the rules applicable to its platform and storefront.

9. Ending use

You may stop using BaristaMatch at any time and may request account deletion. Provisions that reasonably need to survive—such as ownership, safety, disclaimers, and legal obligations—continue after account closure.

10. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled in a court with proper jurisdiction in Miami-Dade County, Florida, unless applicable law requires otherwise. Nothing in this section limits a consumer right that cannot legally be waived.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as BaristaMatch evolves. We will post the revised terms with a new effective date and provide additional notice when required.
